Cancer Registry Analyst

The Kaiser Permanente Northern California Regional Cancer Registry is seeking a certified Oncology Data Specialist (ODS-C) for the position of Cancer Registry Analyst. This is not a primary abstracting position, but one focused on long-term registry data quality and analytic/outcomes support of our CoC-accredited cancer programs, SEER and CCR regulatory functions, integrated healthcare system operations, and our Division of Research cancer research portfolio.

This position is predominantly remote. Interested candidates must reside in Northern California. Once a month team meetings or in-service trainings may be required in Pleasanton.  

General Duties:

The responsibility of the Cancer Registry Analyst is to support SEER and CCR regulations, select registry-specific accreditation standards, and our internal registry team.  Our hybrid model allows us to manage registry operations for 21 medical centers from a single office and combines many typical registry duties into an efficient regionwide process for casefinding, recurrence tracking, multiple primary resolution, quality control, outcomes evaluation, audits, follow-up, and research support.

Required Qualifications:

  • Certified Oncology Data Specialist (ODS-C)
  • Three or more years of analytical and or consulting experience in a setting wherein data submission to maintain a statewide or national cancer registry was performed.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Three or more year’s work experience in departments involved with the diagnosis and/or treatment of cancer (including, but not limited to cancer registry).
  • Three or more years of experience analyzing and interpreting cancer data.
  • One year or more work experience in a Commission on Cancer accredited health care facility.
  • One year or more work experience using cancer registry software such as CNExT.
  • Familiarity with MS Office Word and Excel.
